We at Saint Charles Baptist Church are very glad that you are considering the possibility of visiting us and hope that your time with us will become invaluable to you. Here at Saint Charles Baptist, we try to make sure the first thing you see when you walk through the doors is a smiling face ready to assist you and your family in whatever needs you may have.

When people are checking out a church, they deserve straight answers to important questions. We have tried to anticipate what a number of your questions may be regarding our church. Please do not hesitate to email us if you have additional questions.

Do you have a nursery for my baby or preschooler?
No, we do not have a nursery at present. Working toward that in the future.
When should we arrive?
Our Sunday School begins at 9:30am, and our morning worship begins at 11am.
How big is your church?
On average we have between 25-50 people attending each Sunday.
How old is your church?
Saint Charles Baptist Church is 49 years old, it was established in 1963,
Is your congregation older or younger?
Our church has a good mixture of older and younger members. It is probably 50/50.
When are your worship services?
Saint Charles offers several bible study and worship services throughout the week. SUNDAY Sunday School...9:30 am; Worship Service...11:00 am; Holy Communion...11:00 am (Every 1st Sunday); Baptism...11:00 am (1st Sunday) TUESDAY Bible Study & Prayer Meeting...6:00 pm SATURDAY Men of Godly Growth (MGG)...10:00 am (Every 3rd Saturday); Pastor’s Bible Symposium...10:00 am
What is the preaching and music like?
Our Sunday morning worship is a traditional service. We have senior choir (1st & 3rd Sunday) and the SCBC Ensemble (2nd & 4th Sunday) that leads us in worship (hymns and praise songs). The preaching is biblically based, upbeat, and relevant to your everyday life! You can listen to our sermons online, by clicking on the link located on the homepage. .

How do I get to Saint Charles Baptist Church?

What should I wear to church?
You can wear just about anything you like. Most of our folks dress in a semi-casual style. (Coat and tie is not required!)
What time is Sunday School?
Our Sunday School begins at 9am. We offer classes for all ages!
Do you have Children’s Church?
No, not at this time. We have a great pastor who brings forth the word for all to understand.
Will I feel welcome at Saint Charles Baptist?
Yes. It is our hope that anyone from any walk of life will feel welcome at Bethel Baptist.
Will I have to stand up in front of people?
Guests are never pressured to stand up, so don’t worry about being embarrassed! So while the people of St. Charles are genuinely interested in getting to know you and making you feel welcome, we will try to do so in a way that is relaxed and comfortable!
What if I have a prayer request?
The best way to get your prayer request to our church. You can go to our prayer request page under Resources and enter your request.
Do you have a youth ministry?
YesYes. We have a dynamic youth ministry lead by Sis. Dainnese Barksdale. "He called a child, whom he put among them, and said, 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.'" Matthew 18:2-5. Children are loved and welcomed at St. Charles Baptist Church! Sis. Dainnese seek to provide and minister to children through education, worship, activities, and fellowship. Saint Charles Baptist Church offers preschoolers and children a loving environment from which to grow in their knowledge of God. She provide opportunities for children to build relationships, learn from the Bible, be creative and play with friends. Our prayer is that each child will grow and respond to a personal relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ when led by the Holy Spirit.

What kind of church are you?
Saint Charles Baptist Church is Bible based and Christ-centered! We are affiliated with the National Capital Baptist Convention of Washington DC & Vicinity which is part of the National Baptist Convention,USA.
Do I have to be a member to participate?
No. At St. Charles Baptist you do not have to be a member to participate in any area of worship or Bible study. We offer many events and opportunities to the community and encourage participation by all members and non-members. However, membership is important because it shows your commitment to this body of believers and it allows you to vote on all church business and serve on church committees.
